FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves using 1-5 day germ of one plant as irradiating object and a portion of seeds of other plant as receiving object, with germ apical bud being positioned in one of focal planes of shielding ellipsoidal concentrating chamber and seeds being placed at outlet end of waveguide, whose input end is positioned in other focal plane of concentrating chamber. Orientation of longer axis of concentrating chamber and selection of focal plane position are conducted so that negative gravitropism of germ is provided. Method further involves acting upon dry seeds of receiving plant by germ; conducting irradiation process for 1-5 days while periodically controlling germ lengthening value and moving concentrating chamber in growth direction till apical bud is within focal plane. Apparatus has ellipsoidal rotating thin-walled metal concentrating chamber with inner reflecting surface, waveguide introduced into concentrating chamber through its throat and telescopically extendable support. Bowl with irradiation receiving seeds is positioned in waveguide. Support is formed as bowl fixed on heavy base and filled with ground, where germ is to be planted, and sleeve with stop screw and device for indicating germ apical bud position in lower focal plane of concentrating chamber.
