SUBSTANCE: during electricity generating channel tests, heat release Q in fuel element and heat release q of fuel condensate leaving fuel element are measured as function of time and these dependences are used to determine rate of change of τ and dQ/dτ for time dq/dτ, of interest, stem-gas mixture pressure is measured in interelectrode gap of generating channel, and maximum fuel temperature in fuel-element core is evaluated from, where Mis initial mass of fuel in fuel element; R is total resistance of gas-discharge device; A and B are coefficients depending on type of fuel material; P is steam-gas mixture pressure.
