In a computing environment, common attributes of one or more computing resources are identified for which a predicted probability of an event associated with the one or more computing resources is to be determined. A first predicted probability of the event based on data associated with actual occurrences of the events is calculated. A second predicted probability of the event is calculated based on updated data associated with the event.

1. A computer-implemented method for managing computing resources, the method comprising:
selecting one or more computing resources for which a predicted probability of failure is to be determined; identifying common attributes of the selected computing resources; accessing historical data associated with failure of the one or more computing resources, the historical data selected based at least in part on the common attributes; calculating the predicted probability of failure based at least in part on the historical data associated with the failure of the one or more computing resources; and iteratively updating the predicted probability of failure as updated data associated with the failure of the one or more computing resources becomes available.
