A photographic gelatino silver halide emulsion contains as a hardener a halogeno aldehyde acid such as mucochloric or mucobromic acid and as an antifoggant a compound which has the formula: - where R is hydrogen, alkyl, aryl or aralkyl, provided not more than one R is hydrogen, or a monoacyl or diacyl derivative thereof, or which is maleic acid hydrazide or phthalic acid hydrazide. Compounds of the above formula which are specified are 1-phenyl urazole, 4-phenyl urazole, 4-naphthyl urazole and 4-ethyl urzole. |
