In continuous or discontinuous fashion by alteration of liquid level, especially for application in respect of oxygen in aqueous solutions. The change in level may be measured by a float closed by a membrane in such a way as to compensate for air-pressure or temperature variations. This float may be provided with electrical contacts for control of the process.
