Disc brake has a caliper supporting two brake pads (6, 7) which are inserted into a radial slot in the caliper (1). The pads are held in position by a spring comprising two mutually perpendicular strips (2, 3). The one strip (2) extends parallel to the plane of the disc and has ends secured to the caliper. The other strip (3) is bent to define a pair of ramp surfaces engaging the respective pads and urge them radially inwards and away from the disc. The strips are connected by a pivot so that the ramped strip can be turned for removal or insertion of the pads. |
