Apparatus for inserting empty inner boxes in outer boxes to form matchboxes has a fall shaft (25) for supplying the inner boxes (26), a shaft (22) for supplying the outer boxes (23), and at least one slide (36) for assembling the boxes. At the end of the fall shaft for the inner boxes are lugs (33, 34) with a width smaller than the internal width of the inner boxes. The shaft with its lugs ends above the upper surface of the slide at a distance smaller than the length of the inner box. The slide is transferred from its non-operating position into an insertion position beyond the fall shaft region, and into a stripping position in front of the fall shaft region. A stripper bar (41) is located above and at the turning point of the slide. |
