[Also in Division H2j An oscillating motor mounted in the handle of an electrically driven toothbrush comprises two rod-shaped electromagnets 6, 7 and a rod-shaped permanent magnet 5 extending parallel to each other and mounted at one end on a ferromagnetic plate 14 at the corners of a triangle and a V-shaped armature 4 oscillating parallel to the other end faces of the rods. The armature is mounted on a drive-shaft 2 which pivots at one end on the end of the permanent magnet 5. Centralizing springs are mounted between the sides of the armature and the handle of the toothbrush. The armature may consist of V-shaped laminations, Fig. 3 (not shown) or two S-shaped laminated portions 21, Fig. 4, connected together at one end. The cores of the electromagnets may also be laminated or formed of sintered iron. |
