1,199,308. Selective printing. MITSUBISHI DENKI K.K. 29 Sept., 1967 [29 Sept., 1966 (3)], No. 44596/67. Heading B6F. [Also in Divisions B4 and G4] In a portable device for printing and punching data representing meter readings and the payment due for the quantity consumed, a train of pulses corresponding to a digit of the value to be recorded is fed to a solenoid 81 to rotate a typewheel 76 by means of a pawl-and-ratchet 80, 75. The type wheel is geared to a roller 79<SP>1</SP> round which passes an endless band 84 carrying a punch 85 which is thus selectively positioned over one of spring-biased punches 87 at the same time as the type wheel 76 is set. Manually operated handles (not shown) cause rotation of a cam 90 or 91 to effect printing alone or printing and punching together, by urging support plate 74 downwards against spring bias. A record card to be punched is inserted in slot 86 and a receipt slip with a transfer backing is placed over a margin of the card beneath the typewheel 76. A further punch and a seal, manually operated by a second pivoted support plate, Fig. 13 (not shown), may be provided for use when payment has been made. |
