PURPOSE: To obtain a piezoelectric material having a high piezoelectric constant and at the same time having a high Curie point. CONSTITUTION: This is a piezoelectric material consisting of piezoelectric porcelain having the composition expressed by the formula, aPb[(Mg1-x Nix )1/3 (Nb1-y Tay )2/3 ]O3 .bPbTiO3 .cPbZrO3 [(a), (b) and (c) each expresses mol%; a+b+c=100]. In this formula, (a), (b), (c), X and Y satisfy the following equations: 15<=a<=45; 32<=b<=45; 10<=c<=50; and 0.1<=X, Y<=0.9 and Y-X>=0.05, respectively. Preferably, they satisfy the following equations: 25<=a<=43; 35<=b<=43; 14<=c<=40; and 0.3<=X, Y<=0.8. |
