<p>An instrument for forming planar implants, such as retinal tissue grafts, into coiled shape for implant into a host, is disclosed. Instruments for storing and shipping implants and for implanting implants into a host are also disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, an implant device is used for preparation of an implant for implantation. Said implant device (210) can be loaded with an implant (76) and placed in releasable locking engagement within a storage and shipping container (240) which may be sealed. The implant device (210) can also be placed in locking engagement with a handpiece (200) for manipulation of the implant device and implantation of an implant contained therein.</p> |
