Automatic pipe bundling process forming rectangular pack - produces base layer of parallel pipes onto which stack is formed

The pipe bundling process provides for stacking pipes into compact, rectangular packs using as limited amount of packaging material as possible. At least one pair of pipes is joined together in parallel so that its width is approx. equal to the sum of the individual pipe dias. and is laid down to form a base surface. At least one adjusting piece (12, 14) is placed in the wedge between the pipes and projects sufficiently far upwards that it projects into the wedge of a second pair of pipes laid on top of the first. The pipes are stacked one above the other until finally the stack is encircled by binding.
