Perforated floor coverings based on a substrate with a soft elastic coating comprise a substrate coated on both sides to form a walking layer and a floor layer with the substrate in the middle. Also claimed are (i) prods. made from these coverings, esp. rugs, play mats or safety mats for baths, showers or sinks, (ii) two different prepn. methods for the coverings and (iii) coverings made by either of these methods.
