DATA TRANSMISSION SYSTEM AND BROADCAST VIDEO TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system wherein a plurality of reception terminals can receive large capacity data such as ultrahigh video images transmitted from a plurality of transmission terminals at the same time without causing congestion.

SOLUTION: The transmission system is provided with: N (N is a natural number of 2 or over) time division data transmission apparatuses (110-1 to 110-N) that convert transmission data outputted from a data source into optical data signals with different wavelength bands and output the results as time division optical data signals; a wavelength multiplexer (140) for converting the optical data signals outputted from the N time division data transmission apparatuses into parallel signals and applying wavelength multiplexing to the parallel signals, and outputting transmission light; a demultiplexer (160) connected to the wavelength multiplexer via optical transmission lines and for demultiplexing the received transmission light into M (M is a natural number of 2 or over) transmission lights; and M time division data receivers (170-1 to 170-M) connected to the demultiplexer respectively and for selectively outputting the optical data signals outputted from the received transmission light and the selected time division data transmission apparatus.
