PURPOSE: To provide a weather strip which excels in the sliding performance and has a high lip reaction force with respect to a door glass by setting the ratio of the radii of curvatures to the specific range, i.e., the ratio of the radius of curvature of an inward convex curved surface at the root of the oversurface of a hollow lip to the radius of curvature of an outward convex curved surface at the foremost part of the oversurface. CONSTITUTION: A solid lip 32 is protrusively formed at the upper stage of the surface on the door glass 50 side of the base bottom 31 approx. parallel with a door glass 50, and at the lower stage a hollow lip 33 is provided protrusively, and the curved surface on the root P side of the oversurface of this hollow lip 33 is made convex inward while the curved surface on the foremost Q side of the oversurface is made convex outward so that the whole oversurface is shaped sigmoidally. The ratio of the radius of curvature Ra of the inward convex curved surface on the root P side to the radius of curvature Rb of the outward convex curved surface should be set to Ra:Rb=1:2.5 thru 1:3.5. Thereby stress concentration is unlikely to occur, and the lip reaction force with respect to the door glass is high, and an excellent sliding motion is obtained. |
