The armchair-like or couch-like convertible furniture having a multiple-part seat part which can be pulled out forwards has the feature that only the seat part is subdivided into a multiple of parts and is of pivotable construction, whereas the backrest part does not participate in the provision of the lying surface. As a result, the backrest part remains completely free in its own shaping and allows unrestricted design developments.
