PURPOSE:To reduce variations of a meniscus of an ink and obtain an ink jet recorder having favorable responsivity, by a construction wherein the tip of a small diameter line inserted into an ink-ejecting port protrudes from the port. CONSTITUTION:The small diameter line 16 is inserted into the ink-ejecting port 15 cut in a flat plate form nozzle member 14 protrudes to the exterior of the port 15 to generate a meniscus 17 of the ink. The tip of the line 18 vertically fixed to a substantially central part of a supporting plate 19 provided in an ink chamber 22 is inserted into the ink-ejecting port 4, and a minute length part thereof protrudes to the exterior. A potential difference is generated between an electrode 9 provided on the surface of an air-ejecting port 1 and an electrode 20 provided on the back side of the port 4, whereby an electrostatic force is exerted on the ink contained in the port 4. Accordingly, the movements of the ink meniscus at the time of ejecting the ink liquid by the electrostatic force and an air flow can be reduced, and the responsivity of the recorder can be enhanced.
