PURPOSE:To insure one-time use of each printing track and markedly lower the frequency of replacement of an ink ribbon, by such control that each of printing tracks in used for printing by a printing head at most one time. CONSTITUTION:The logical sum of a film image word 15 of the printing track and a print image word 16 is calculated, and is stored in the film image word 15 of the printing track. Then, the printing track and a take-up quantity of the ink ribbon are determined, and controlling signals according to the determined values are sent to motor-driving circuits 10, 12, whereby the ribbon is taken up by a required amount by a ribbon-feeding motor 11, and the printing track is set between a printing head 3 and a paper by a motor 13 for moving a ribbon cassette. After thus setting the printing track, a controlling signal is sent to a motor-driving circuit 6 to set the paper to a printing position by a paper-feeding motor 7, and controlling signals are sent to a motor-driving circuit 8 and a head driver 14, whereby printing is conducted by using the printing track of the ink ribbon while moving the head by a carriage motor 9. |
