PURPOSE:To make it possible to record the output of a measuring apparatus, by winding up an ink ribbon by raising a thermal head every when a definite amount of paper is sent in a range wherein the ink ribbon adhered to the paper is not detached from the thermal head. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 4 is attached to a mount stand 11, moving left and right along a guide 12, along with a delivery roll 5 of an ink ribbon 3 and a wind-up roll 6 and contacted with recording paper 2 by a spring 14 through a shaft 13. Then, the data read from a memory is outputted to the head 4 and, at the same, a paper feed motor 8 is controlled to perform recording operation. Recording operation is stopped every when a definite amount of the paper 2 is sent in a range wherein the ribbon 3 is not detached from the head 4 and a current is supplied to a solenoid 15 to separate the head 4 from the paper 2 through the shaft 13 and a ribbon feed motor 7 is driven to wind up a definite amount of the ribbon 3.
