PURPOSE:To diagnose a RAS circuit together with other normal operation confirming tests by generating a hardware error in an input/output controller and utilizing a fact that the input/output controller restores to the operating state again by a RAS function to diagnose the normality of the RAS circuit. CONSTITUTION:In applying diagnosis of the RAS circuit 122 of the input/output controller 120, a diagnostic command is issued to the input/output controller 120 from a channel 110. In conducting the normal operation confirming test for the system where the channel 110 and the input/output controller 120 are connected, a diagnostic command is incorporated in the test program for the normality operation confirming test and then issued. When the diagnostic command is received, a hardware error generating section 123 generates prescribed hardware errors in the hardware section 121. When the hardware error takes place in the hardware section 121, the RAS circuit 122 applies recovery processing according to a prescribed RAS sequence. Whether or not the input/ output controller 120 is restored to the operating state again is checked. |
