PURPOSE:To reduce the response delay of air-fuel ratio control and to enhance th accuracy, by feedback-correcting the reference value of air-fuel ratio control to a target air-fuel ratio by the output of an O2 sensor, and correcting the transient correction value on the basis of the deviation between the air-fuel ratio detected by the O2 sensor at the time of acceleration or deceleration and the target air-fuel ratio. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control unit 4 calculates the proportional part, integral part, and differential part for a feedback control in accordance with the deviation between the air-fuel ratio detected by an O2 sensor 1 and a target air-fuel ratio, and corrects the reference value of air-fuel ratio control which is calculated on the basis of detected values of an intake absolute pressure sensor 32 and a crank angle sensor 35. Judging that the rate of change in the opening of a throttle valve is in the state of an acceleration or deceleration exceeding a prescribed value on the basis of the detected value of a throttle valve opening sensor 31, the electronic control unit 4 carries out the learning control of the transient correction value at the time of acceleration or deceleration in accordance with the deviation between the detected air-fuel ratio and the target air-fuel ratio, and calculates the transient correction value stored in correspondence to the intake absolute pressure and number of revolutions so as to be renewed.
