PURPOSE:To accomplish work of required cores alone without halting the operation of others than those involved, by feeding an inspection signal current to a plurality of cores of a cable to detect the inspection signal current with an inspection coil. CONSTITUTION:An inspection signal oscillator A is set at one end of a multi- core cable 1 to run an inspection signal current to a core 2 to be inspected. A sheath of a cable is peeled off at an inspecting point in the course thereof and the core 2 inside is taken out to connect an inspection coil 3 contactlessly to a conductor inside the cable from above an insulation sheath. The inspection signal current flowing through the core 2 is detected with an inspection signal detector B through the coil 3 and displayed on a display C. In this manner, a cable core desired to be inspected can be inspected and detected while a cable equipment is in operation.
