PURPOSE: To improve recording sensitivity, dot quality, etc., by a thermal transfer system of only areal gradation by a method wherein an image receiving layer to which an ink layer is transferred contains resin wherein a specific equivalent of a hydroxyl group in polyvinylacetal resin is converted to a specific group. CONSTITUTION: At least two image receiving layers are provided on a base material. At least one layer of the image receiving layers is transferred to a permanent base material. The image receiving layer to which at least an ink layer is transferred contains resin wherein 0.1-1 equivalent of a hydroxyl group in polyvinylacetal resin is converted to groups expressed by-O-W [W represents-CONH-Y<1> , -COO-Y<2> ,-Y<3> , -SiY<4> Y<5> Y<6> , SO2 Y<7> , -COZ<1> -COOH, -COCH2 COMe (Y<1> , Y<2> , Y<3> , Y<4> , Y<5> , Y<6> , Y<7> are 1-20C monovalent organic group, and Z<1> is 1-20C bivalent organic group)]. An image receiving sheet material is composed of that which contains the above-mentioned resin. In order to raise bonded force of the base material to the image receiving one layer, surface treatment such as corona discharge treatment, glow discharge treatment, etc., can be applied. |
