PURPOSE:To enhance permeability of lubricant in a nesting section of a connecting pin and a bushing, adhere lubricant to the whole frictional surface and reduce wear of the connecting pin by forming a plurality of oil grooves on the surface of a connecting pin constituting of a nesting section with a bushing fixed to a link plate of a driving chain by means of plastic deformation and curing the surface. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of oil grooves or streaks 52 are formed on the outer peripheral face of a connecting pin 51 by roll forming or knurling, and grinding is carried out after the outer peripheral face is curing heat treated by means of gas nitrification, salt bath nitrification, ion nitrification or the like. Lubricant reaching the connecting pin by said process drops down gradually in an oil groove, spreads all over a nesting section to eliminate preliminarily wear of the connecting pin, and reduces frictional force to reduce power consumed for driving a chain to a large extent. Also, the replacement properties of new and used oil gets better to eliminate the generation of carbon sludge, and the surface of the groove is of dense structure and good fatigue strength.
