For the purpose of simplifying the production of a body part in the manner of a hatchback or rear-wall door for a motor vehicle, which contains as essential components a panel (1) made of transparent material and a supporting plate (2) for additional devices, such as the closure (6) and window-wiper arrangement (7), the supporting plate (2) inclusive of the additional devices (6, 7) forms a prefabricated constructional unit which outside that region bearing the additional devices (6, 7) has a groove (3) which is U-shaped in cross-section and with which it fits over an edge (4) of the panel (1) and is secured on the panel by adhesive bonding (5) (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
