The principle of this motor is to carry out the commutation of the currents in an ironless rotor, rather than in the stator as in a conventional stepper motor. The general structure is that of a motor with plane air gap and flat rotor, but with a different arrangement of the active conductors. The figure indicates the unfurled diagram of the motor in a preferred embodiment. The conductors are arranged at the surface of the rotor, on either side. The conductors under the same pole are on the same side. The conductors are connected at the end to a surround 1 and to the centre with 4 slip rings A B C D, each slip ring grouping together the conductors of a half-pole. With the supply being that of the figure, the motor revolves by one polar half-step. The reversal of the AC supply makes it continue by an additional half-step and so on. <IMAGE>
