PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry out all machining steps with only one chucking operation, by supporting a machining spindle in the Z-axis direction with the use of a column which is movable in X-Y axis directions, and by providing a horizontal rotary shaft and a workpiece holding shaft orthogonal to the rotary shaft below the machining spindle. CONSTITUTION:A column 4 is supported in the direction of the Y-axis of a table 3 supported on the upper surface of a base 2. A machining spindle 8 is held in a frame 7 which is supported in the Z-axis direction by means of the column 4. Meanwhile, a support device 11 supports a horizontal shaft 12 and a holding shaft 13 orthogonal to the former. With the use of this device, machining may be made under a five spindle control as a whole in combination of rotary motions about two axis of the rotary shaft 12 and the holding shaft 13 and three motions in X-Y-Z axis directions of the machining spindle 8. Accordingly, it is possible to accurately carry out a three dimensional machining process with only one chucking operation, and with a less loss time. |
