An epoxy compound of formlula (I) an unsatd. fatty acid ester is prepd. by reacting the unsatd. farry acid ester of formula (II) and an organic acid of formula R3COOH with H2O2 in an organic solvent in the presence of a catalyst and stabilizer at 0-150 deg.C. The catalyst is pref. phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, p- toluene sulfonic acid, oxalic acid, silicagel, citric acid nitric acid, etc. The stabilizer is pref. glucose, lactose, sorbitol or phosphate. The solvent is pref. xylene, benzene, toluene, chloroform or ethylacetate. In the formulas, R'= R"=R"'=R=R1=R2= otefin cpd.; R3= hydrocarbon or aromatic cpd.
