PURPOSE: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic device to perform compensation for ununiformity in medium in living organisms in the scanning direction of an ultrasonic wave and in direction perpendicularly crossing therewith. CONSTITUTION: A first delaying section 2 hypothesizes a testee as a uniform medium whose sound velocity is known, and gives initial delay time distribution derived analytically against receiving signals of each of first elements of a probe 1. The number of output signals in the first delaying section 2 is equivalent to that of receiving signals, wherein a plurality of output signals in the first delaying section 2 is summed in a first summing section 3, and a summing signal to be a subject of correlation calculation is outputted. A correlation calculator 5 detects time difference between summing signals, wherein this time difference is given to each summing signal in addition to the delayed time given in the first delaying section 2 by a second delaying section 4 to compensate variance in arrival time of the receiving signals. Output signals from the second delaying section 4 are summed in a second summing section 6 to form ultrasonic beams having directionality in an intended direction. These arrangements make it possible to perform two-way compensation efficiently with small circuit scale. |
