<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a liquid crystal display device having uniform and stable characteristics and good display quality by preventing the display disconnection due to the foreign matter on signal electrodes and the unequal display due to the variation in the current-voltage characteristics of nonlinear resistance elements. CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display device has first electrodes on first substrates 1 and electrodes 5 for anodic oxidation for anodically oxidizing the first electrodes, lower electrodes constituting the nonlinear resistance elements and the signal electrodes 4 for impressing external signals on the nonlinear resistance elements. The signal electrodes 4 are connected to each other by the electrodes 5 for anodic oxidation when the anodic oxidation treatment is carried out. Further, the device has upper electrodes to be disposed on a nonlinear resistance layer as the second electrodes and display electrodes connected to these upper electrodes. The nonlinear resistance elements are constituted of the lower electrodes, the nonlinear resistance layer and the upper electrodes. The device has the first electrodes 5 for anodic oxidation and the second electrodes 16 for anodic oxidation at both ends of the respective signal electrodes 4 in order to anodically oxidize the first electrodes.</p> |
