<p>The method involves forming a desired rupturing line of an airbag cover (1) in a motor vehicle. The bag has at least one cladded board plate (4) and a foil cladding (8). A laser beam is aligned on the board rear side, for the formation of a desired rupturing line, which is invisible from the inside of the vehicle which it monitors. The laser beam (11) of the laser (3) is received by the radiation sensitive sensor (12) arranged opposite. This is received through the foil cladding (8), and gives a signal against the cutting through of the foil cladding, by the reaction which a further laser application at the sensitive place prevents. The laser beam (9) is moved away from the sensitive part, so that it remains switched on. The power of the laser beam is lowered to a value which no longer alters the cladded board (2).</p> |
