摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a navigation apparatus which prevents the correction of the position of an own vehicle from becoming impossible and whose position accuracy can be enhanced by a method wherein a movement distance is corrected further according to the speed difference between a movement speed detected by a self-sustaining sensor part and a movement speed computed by a GPS data reception part and according to a time interval. SOLUTION: A movement speed, a movement distance and a change distance which are detected by a self-sustaining sensor part 1 are input to a control part 9. In addition, an absolute position, a movement speed and a position error which are computed by a GPS data reception part 2 on the basis of reception data from a GPS satellite are input to the control part 9. Then, the control part 9 judges whether the accuracy of the movement speed as GPS information is high or not. A distance correction part 4 to which respective data are input from a speed correction part 3 corrects the movement distance by the sensor part 1 while the movement speed corrected by the correction part 3 is used as a reference. The movement distance is corrected further according to the speed difference between the movement speed detected by the sensor part 1 and the movement speed computed by the reception part 2 and according to a previous time interval and a recent time interval. As a result, even when a pitch angle is generated in a car body, it is possible to prevent a movement distance error from being expanded and to prevent the correction of the position of an own vehicle from becoming impossible, and the position accuracy of a navigation apparatus can be enhanced.
