PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive material in which a fluorescent whitening effect in a part not exposed of an obtd. print is increased and whiteness of increased, static failures are effectively suppressed and moreover, the photosensitive material shows excellent pressure resistance, by specifying the fluorescent intensity in the max. fluorescent wavelength at specified excitation wavelength. SOLUTION: The photographic sensitive material is controlled to satisfy the relation of (A/B)<0.03, wherein A is the intensity of fluorescent light at the max. fluorescent wavelength for 360nm excitation wavelength of a sliver photographic sensitive material before development, B is the intensity of fluorescent light at the max. fluorescent wavelength for 400nm excitation wavelength in an unexposed part when the photosensitive material is developed with a developer containing no fluorescent whitening agent. These values A and B can be easily measured by using a spectral fluorescent photometer which is commercially available and can independently scan both of the excitation wavelength and the fluorescent wavelength. Moreover, the effect is enhanced when the whole gelatin amt. of the silver halide photosensitive material is <8.0g/m<2> .
