PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely demonstrate the damper effect by incorporating a pressure regulator to energize a pressure relief valve in a closing direction by a spring one end of which is supported on a position-adjustable fixing base in a swash type fuel pump to uniquely determine the opening of a valve hole. SOLUTION: In a fuel pump of a cylinder fuel injection device of an engine, a plunger in a cylinder is reciprocated as a swash to be rotated is rotated, and the fuel is sucked and discharged into a pressure chamber. In a pressure regulator incorporated in the fuel pump, a fixing base 51 having a communication hole 52 whose advancing/retracting position is regulated by a screw mechanism is screwed in a cylinder 50. A pressure relief valve 54 to open/close a valve hole 53 to communicate the cylinder 50 with a pressure chamber is energized in the closing direction through a holder 55 by the energizing force of a spring 56 one end of which is supported by the fixing base 51, and the pressure relief valve 54 is opened/closed as the swash is oscillated, to discharge the fuel into the pressure chamber. |
