PURPOSE: A method of controlling a transmission of image data in a wireless channel is proposed to inform a state of a retransmission buffer to an encoder, thereby transmitting image data in real time without delaying transmission. CONSTITUTION: The method of controlling transmission of image data in a wireless channel comprises the steps of: feeding back a state of a retransmission buffer(210) according to a bit error rate of a wireless channel to an image encoding portion(110); and variably controlling a bit speed on the wireless channel according to the state of the retransmission buffer. In the method, the bit speed on the wireless channel is controlled so that a correspondent image data is transmitted at a lower speed than a predetermined target speed when the retransmission buffer is overloaded. Alternatively, according as the state of the retransmission buffer is fed back to the image encoding portion, the encoding portion received a state information reflecting the state of the retransmission buffer and an output speed of an encoding buffer(120) is controlled by a quantizing parameter provided from the encoding portion. |
