<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image pickup device and its operation method by which the operations can be simplified by eliminating trouble of operations with a touch panel. SOLUTION: This image pickup device consists of an electronic viewfinder 3 that is placed to a video camera main body 1 and by which a user can view an object image during photographing through an eyepiece section, a liquid crystal display monitor 4 that is externally mounted to the video camera main body 1 in an erected/folded way and whose display screen is inverted outward and contained and provided with a touch panel 5 on a display screen 4a, an icon display means that displays operation buttons 13-16 as icons at a prescribed position of a finder screen 12 by containing the display screen of the liquid crystal display monitor 4 while its display screen is outwardly inverted and contained in the case of photographing by the electronic viewfinder 3, and a touch panel operation means where a touch panel at a position corresponding to the operation button position relating to the operation button position displayed as icons on the finder screen 12 can be touched as the sensing area of the operation buttons.</p> |
