Process consists on measuring the length of belt that has been used in a certain time (Ln), then calculating the length of belt corresponding to the loose added portion of the belt (Ls0,Ls1) and determining the bale diameters from it (D0,D1). The bale diameter and the length of the bale are used to determine the average thickness of the netting (e). An Independent claim is included for the device used for measuring the netting thickness.
