发明名称 METHOD OF PREPARING CERAMIC HOLLOW MICROSPHERE
摘要 PURPOSE: Provided is a method of preparing ceramic hollow microsphere for use as catalyst substrate or adsorbent for eliminating heavy metal ions in industrial wastewater, which is capable of controlling mechanical properties such as pore size, pore volume of the ceramic hollow microsphere. CONSTITUTION: The ceramic hollow microsphere is prepared by follow step: (i) addition of hydrophilic LUDOX (DuPont, colloidal silica, 30% suspension in water) into hydrophobic 2-ethyl-1-hexanol solution and then agitation of the mixture solution at 730rpm for 2min to prepare an emulsion; (ii) addition of both ammonia as a catalyst and span 80 (sorbitan monooleate, C24H44O6) as a surfactant into the emulsion; (iii) after the appearance of silica colloidal droplet, addition of n-butanol into the emulsion to extract water contained on the inside of colloid and thereby draw the colloidal silica onto interfacial area formed between butanol and hydrophobic layer; (iv) after filtration/drying of the resultant obtained in 3rd step, calcination the dried resultant for 12hrs in an electric furnace. In this method, factors such as ratio of two precursors, an amount of catalyst, calcination temperature and the amount of span 80 affect pore volume and specific surface area of the ceramic hollow microsphere, in addition, the wall thickness of the ceramic hollow microsphere varies according to LUDOX concentration.
