A human glioma antigen which is applicable to the diagnosis and treatment for glioma; a gene encoding the same; and a process for preparing them. Total RNA is extracted from a glioma cell line and cDNAs are synthesized. These cDNAs are transferred into a μ phage vector and Escherichia coli is infected with it. The μ phage vector cDNA library thus constructed is reacted with the serum of a patient with glioma. Using a labeled anti-IgG antibody, positive clones reacting with the antibody in the serum are detected. The positive clones thus detected are further screened several times and thus an antigen is isolated from positive clones showing a reactivity with the antibody. Using the thus isolated antigen, the serum of the glioma patient, the serum of a normal human subject, etc., serum screening is carried out to thereby prepare the glioma antigen and the glioma antigen gene.
|
