Each dish-shaped rotor (4,5) has smooth-surfaced steel guides projecting the granular material outwards under centrifugal force into the trough (15), in which it accumulates to form a belt. Further incoming material strikes against the latter and travels along it, giving a further crushing effect and forming particles with radiused edges and hard surfaces. The rotors (4,5) are mounted one above the other on a common vertical axis (1). The stationary trough (15) extending round them has its opening (16) on the inside and towards them. The trough can be extended downwards below the edge of the bottom rotor, so that its bottom is at a lower level. A further trough is provided, with its opening towards the outside and the extended portion of the first trough. A guide wall can be mounted below the edge of the bottom rotor, turning with it and sloping upwards.
