PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey the information described in a tabular form in general by speech in a manner easily understandable to a listener. SOLUTION: The documents described in the tabular form (two-dimensional form) are inputted by an input means 2, are stored in a memory section 4, are arranged into a one-dimensional form by a processing section 5 under the instruction of an operating means 2 and are outputted in the form of the speech by a speech synthesizing section 6. When multicolumns are included in the tables, the multicolumns are rearranged into the tabular form dividing all cells to the smallest unit and a read-aloud direction is automatically decided from the direction where the cells are divided.
