PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation transmitting device capable of reducing switching torque required for fitting a two-way roller clutch. SOLUTION: A plurality of cam surfaces 12 forming a wedge shaped space between an inner periphery of an outer ring 1 and an outer peripheral cylinder surface 11 of an inner ring 2 is formed on the inner periphery of the outer ring 1. A pocket 14 is formed in a position confronting both ends of the respective cam surfaces 12 on a retainer 13, and a roller 15a for forward rotation and a roller 15b for backward rotation are assembled, and the two kinds of the rollers are alternately arranged along the peripheral direction. The retainer 13 is elastically held in a neutral position by a switch spring 16 where fitting of the respective rollers 15a and 15b is released. An electromagnetic clutch 20 is provided for joining the retainer 13 to the inner ring 2. In free rotation of the outer ring 1, the rotational torque to the opposite direction is given to the retainer 13 from the rollers 15a and 15b by contact of the roller 15a for forward rotation and the roller 15b for backward rotation moved to the outer direction by centrifugal force with the cam surface 12, and switching torque for fitting the roller clutch is reduced.
