PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition delay time calculation device for an engine calculating ignition delay time from fuel injection start to ignition. SOLUTION: The ignition delay time calculation device for the engine is provided with an injector 5 injecting fuel in a combustion chamber 7 of the engine, a vibration detection device 17 detecting vibration of the engine, a drive vibration detection means 18 detecting drive vibration signal Vh caused by drive of the injector 5 from vibration signal Va detected by the vibration detection means 17, an ignition vibration detection means 19 detecting ignition vibration signal Vl caused by ignition of fuel generated after drive of the injector 5 from vibration signal Va detected by the vibration detection means 17, an injection start and ignition timing detection means 20 detecting fuel injection stat timing Ta by the injector 5 from drive vibration signal Vh and detecting ignition timing from ignition vibration signal Vl, and an ignition delay time calculation means 20 calculating ignition delay time DT from fuel injection start timing Ta to ignition timing Tb form difference between fuel injection start timing Ta and ignition timing Tb.
