A method for transmitting encoded data and an imaging device performing the method are provided to enable the encoded data, composed of only valid data actually forming images, to be collectively transmitted to a back-end chip, thereby improving the processing efficiency and speed of the back-end chip. An image signal processor(400) comprises the followings: an encoding unit(420) which encodes image data corresponding to electric signals inputted from an image sensor(110) with a predesignated encoding method to the generate encoded image data; and a data output unit(430) which temporarily stores the encoded image data and transmits the stored encoded image data to a receiver(405), wherein the receiver(405) is a back-end chip or a baseband chip. The data output unit(430) accumulates a valid data row composed of only valid data of the encoded image data and transmits the accumulated valid data row to the receiver(405) in order with predesignated line size as a unit.
