PURPOSE: To obtain a recording material having a long shelf life in which an org. silver salt and a developer can be separated from each other at normal temp. by including the developer in heat-responsible microcapsules. CONSTITUTION: This recording material has a recording layer containing at least an org. silver salt, a developer for this org. silver salt and a water-soluble binder on a supporting body and at least the developer is included in heat- responsible microcapsules. When the developer for the org. silver salt is included in heat-responsible microcapsules, the microcapsules do not break at normal temp. even when pressure is added, so that the org. silver salt is separated from the developer (reducing agent). When the recording material is heated, the wall of microcapsules becomes permeable for materials. Thus, the obtd. recording material has a long shelf life. The org. silver salt used is such a silver salt that is colorless or white and stable against light, and when the salt is reduced by the reducing agent, it produces silver by the oxidation- reduction reaction without depending on the presence or absence of silver halides. |
