METHOD FOR THE EFFICIENT TREATMENT OF INFORMATION LIST TRANSMITTED THROUGH INBAND OF BROADCAST NETWORK

A method for efficiently processing information list transmitted through an in-band of a broadcasting network in a set-top-box is provided to efficiently manage the information list while minimizing memory capacity allocated for processing a specific information list and effectively use a bandwidth allocated for transmitting a specific information list. A information list is received through an in-band of a broadcasting network from a head end which transmits the information list. The received information list is recorded in a character arrangement in a memory. The initial recording point of individual information included in the information list is indexed and an integer arrangement with respect to the indexing information is generated.
