FIELD: nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: tube used as cladding for nuclear fuels rods is made of zirconium base alloy containing also 0.18-0.25% of iron, 0.07-0.13% of chromium, 0.35-0.70% of tin by weight, 900-2300 p.p.m. of hydrogen, 80 to 200 p.p.m. of carbon, and 50 to 120 p.p.m. of silicon. Weight proportion between chromium and iron in alloy is 1.6 to 3; heat treatment after rolling includes several annealing runs in inert environment, such that ΣA is greater than 1,5•10.. Here, ΣA means sum for set of annealing runs, products of terms t (in hours), and exponential function Q/RT, T being temperature in K. EFFECT: improved quality of cladding tubes. |
