PURPOSE: To remove drum welding caused on an image carrier by arranging a cleaning member for maintenance to be brought into contact with the surface of the image carrier instead of an image forming means detached. CONSTITUTION: A transfer roller which is a transferring device is easily attached or detached even by a user. The cleaning member 1 for the maintenance sliding by slidingly scrubbing and cleaning the surface of a photoreceptor drum 3 is inserted and attached in the interior of a holder member 12 from which the transfer roller is detached. The cleaning member 1 is used by being fitted in the interior of the holder member 12. The structure of the cleaning member 1 is made to be a two-layer constitution where a surface layer 1a is provided on a base layer 1b, for instance and the member 1 is used so that the surface layer 1a may abut on the photoreceptor drum 3. Thus, the cleaning member 1 arranged to slidingly sorubs the surface of the image carrier, so that the drum welding caused on the image carrier is removed. |
