PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure gas flow rate such as combustion exhaust gas reaching high temperature with a short duct length by controlling the pressure loss so that it is below about 1 kPa within a flow rate range of 1:150 or more. SOLUTION: In this flowmeter, an orifice plane perpendicular to the flow axis is disposed in the duct 2, the sectional shape of an orifice channel is made to be triangle and its one side is made movable, and the variable sectional area orifice 1 is constituted. The flow rate is measured based on the orifice sectional area, pressures before and after it, fluid density, temperature, and flow rate coefficient. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
