The shank (2) has a lengthwise channel (7) passing through it from end to end and equipped at its upper end with a connection (8) for an injector cannula (29). The lengthwise channel is connected, adjacent to the lower end of the shank, to a series of radial channels (10) with their outlets situated in lengthwise grooves (12) in the shank's outer surface. The outer surface grooves extend over the lower third of the shank; they reduce in depth towards the shank's upper end, and they are three in number, situated 120 degrees apart. The upper third of the shank is coated with a layer of material which promotes bone growth, such as titanium and hydroxyapatite. |
